Frequently Asked Questions
Am I eligible to be mentored?
The requirements are simple: you must be in the 12th grade and are applying to college during the 2020-2021 school year.
My parent(s) went to college in the United States. Am I still eligible?
Yes, all students are eligible to apply. However, in the event there is a shortage of volunteer mentors, priority will be given to first-generation students and students who are socioeconomically disadvantaged.
I am in 11th grade, but want to be prepared earlier. Can I still apply?
Unfortunately, we only have the resources to support current 12th grade students. However, feel free to apply next year!
How will I be able to communicate with my mentor?
All mentoring is done via remote communication in a manner that is agreed upon by you and your mentor. Communication can be done via video call (Ex: Zoom & Google Hangouts), text messaging, phone calls, and/or email.
How will I be paired with my mentor?
Your application will allow you to indicate your potential interests in college. We will try our best to match you with a mentor who has similar interests and aspirations.
